What is a digital library ?
Digital libraries offer digital collections classified according to a chosen documentary policy. They are fed either by digitisation operations (heritage documents in general), or by natively digital documents. Content is organized for ease of reference.
What is Open Science?
Open Science is the unhindered dissemination of the results, methods and products of scientific research. It relies on the opportunity presented by the digital transformation to develop open access to publications and – as much as possible – to data, source codes and research methods. It enables publicly funded research to retain control over the results it produces. It builds an ecosystem in which science is more transparent, more solidly substantiated and reproducible, more efficient and cumulative. It induces a democratization of access to knowledge, useful for education, training, the economy, public policies, citizens and society as a whole.
Today's context is particularly favorable to the opening up of science: open access to scientific publications and research data is strongly advocated and it is on the way to becoming compulsory, when research is financed from public. Among this global movement of free access to knowledge, the 2nd National Plan for Open Science (2nd PNSO) and the recommendations on Open Science of the UNESCO Science Commission, serve as a framework at the start of 2022, so that the results of scientific research are accessible, sustainable and free, regardless of the public (researchers and citizens). The open science barometer indicates that 62% of scientific publications in all fields are in open access in France as of December 1, 2021 ( bso.dataesr.ovh )
What is an Open Archive?
An Open Archive is a reservoir of digital documents offering work resulting from scientific research deposited by their authors, when they hold the distribution rights. Its access is permanent, free and free. Its objective is the sharing of research results. Readers who so wish, specialists or not, can consult freely and free of charge any scientific document which has been deposited in an open archive.
What is Open Access?
Open Access is based on three principles:
- Accessibility to research data: research results, raw data, metadata, source documents, images and multimedia documents, etc.
- The durability of access to this data: long-lasting links and storage tools
- Free access without authentication
This includes the right to copy, use, distribute, transmit and publicly view the work and use it to make and distribute derivative works, in any electronic format, for any reasonable purpose, and provided correctly indicate the author.

What is citizen science?

The opening and diversification of sources of scientific knowledge promotes interactions with users of the digital platform who then become contributors, thus facilitating its implementation.
